1925 – 2010
Peacefully, surrounded by his family on Saturday October 16, 2010. He was in his 85th year.
Pre-deceased by his brother Gerald (pianist, Local 180), Bas joined Local 180 in 1948. He was a big jazz enthusiast and a well-respected violin and upright bass player.
He played bass in the Buff Estes CBC sextet and was also a violinist with the Ottawa Symphony for many years. Bas will be greatly missed by his many friends in Local 180.
