Bill Robson died in hospital on March 3, 2007. He was in his 87th year.

He was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on August 14, 1919. His family emigrated to Calgary in 1920. During the 1930s, he studied violin and played in a number of orchestras in the Calgary area.

He was on the founding committee of the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra and held the position of principal second violin for many years. He remained devoted to the service of the Ottawa Symphony until his death. He became a life member of Local 180 in 2003.

Rest in peace, Bill.
