Charles Coleman

1932 – 2002

Charles Coleman of Ottawa and Las Vegas passed away on February 25, 2002, of liver cancer. Charles was a pianist, arranger, composer and band leader for CBC Ottawa.

He was music director for many Broadway shows (“Ain’t Misbehavin’,” “No, No, Nanette,” “The Wiz,” “Blues in the Night” and “Sophisticated Ladies”) and was piano accompanist for Sarah Vaughan, Melba Moore, Lou Rawls, Gladys Knight and many others.

Charles was very highly regarded and will indeed be missed by his many friends in Local 180.
