George Noel Down

It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce the passing on March 29, 2008, of George Down, a former member of Local 180. George was 85 when he died.

A low-brass specialist and former member of the RCMP Band, he was a kind and generous man who loved putting on his lederhosen and playing the tuba in an oom-pah-pah band, as he called it. He leaves his wife, Lillian, his daughter and stepdaughter, and two grandchildren.
