Marie Savard
1961 – 2004
On January 30, there was a memorial mass in Ottawa for former member Marie Savard (April 11, 1961–January 5, 2004), who died last year after a long struggle with cancer.
Marie was an accomplished concert violinist and highly esteemed administrator in the field of orchestral management. Before moving to Montreal, she performed as an extra player with the National Arts Centre Orchestra and was a member of Thirteen Strings. Marie was the winner of numerous awards and scholarships in both of her areas of expertise.
