Peter Noel Wainwright Shaw
1932 – 2005
Peter Shaw, a long-time variety producer with CBC radio, passed away on June 8, 2005, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
From the mid ’60s to the late ’70s Peter was the organizer and producer of numerous music variety shows for the CBC network, showcasing the talents of local band leaders such as Ron Milne, Champ Champagne, Gerry Helke, Bill Jupp, Ken Campbell and Brian Browne, with guest artists Mel Tormé, Dizzy Gillespie, Chico O’Farrill, Zoot Simms and many others.
He was a very good friend and staunch supporter of the local music community and will be greatly missed by every member of Local 180.
