Stewart MacLeod
d. 2002
A journalist, musician and family man of gentle humour and deep perception died on February 6, 2002, in hospital in Ottawa, in his 70th year.
Stewart was a gifted writer, reporter and musician. The Dean of the Canadian Parliamentary Press Gallery before his retirement, he covered the passages of politicians and events for four decades.
Music was a big part of Stewart’s life, from the Celtic Canadian airs of his well-loved Cape Breton to the Dixieland jazz that engaged him and his banjo for many joyous years with the National Press and Allied Workers Jazz Band Inc.
Stewart will be truly missed by all his fellow musicians in Local 180.
